This artwork was my 2nd grade art fair project. I think it is good to write about this because it taught me a good lesson on how art and math come together. My mom found a website that had lot of cool art pieces by Frank Stella and I picked this one out. This figure is made of shapes that combine mostly circles and squares spaced evenly. I learnt to use a compass to draw circles and squares. Then I used a ruler to draw lines to part the circles and squares to make different shapes. When I was coloring the figure, I realized that different color patterns brought in different views.
It has been two years, since I did this project and even now it’s very useful because, now it helps me learn and figure out where math comes in art and art comes in math. And that is fun.
